2010 IAM Youth Committee
Posted on February 16th, 2010 by adminPresident: Sandhya Sridhar
This year when we asked for nominations for the Youth Committee with a write-up explaining why they would like to be a part of it, the very first entry that we received was from Sandhya. She had a very clear statement of purpose outlining her ideas and desire to give back to the community. She has already been active by volunteering to edit an article for the Jan-Feb issue of Samachar. And she did a splendid job at that. A Junior at White Station High School, Sandhya also likes reading, writing, classical dance, public speaking and community service.
Vice President: Malli Swamy
Malli is a Junior at White Station High School whose interests include reading, writing, community service, yoga and playing the violin. Watching her during the meetup gave us the impression that she is a thinker who weighs options carefully and we think she will bring a balance to this team of high-fliers. Her thoughtful questions assured us that this team is probably not likely to rush into something without mulling over it thoroughly.
Treasurer: Jason Gupta
Just a freshman at White Station High School Jason has set out to be an achiever by getting on board the IAM Youth Committee. Coming from a family that has been very much involved in IAM activities, Jason hopes to do his part by being a part of this vibrant group. When not cramming for his tests Jason likes to play tennis, racquetball and Chess.
Secretary: Sai Boyella
Those of you who attended the Republic day celebration earlier this year might have see Sai in action during the Oratory and Impromptu speech competitions. She walked away with two prizes that day. We have a feeling that this young orator has just gotten started. She seems to be chock-full of ideas. A Sophomore at White Station High School, Sai likes reading, swimming, classical dance, public speaking and watching classic films.
